  1. Airport Recruitment:

ANC is on the lookout for a variety of people to join our work family. Positions that are under active recruitment efforts are posted online at www.joinANC.com or through Local 71 at the following web addresses: local71.com/jobs. All positions at ANC contribute to the overall success of operations.

Vacancies include:

  • Accounting Technician 1

  • Environmental Services Journey II (Custodial)
  • Maintenance Specialist Electrician Journey II
  • Maintenance Generalist Journey I
  • Equipment Operators
  • Mechanics
  • Airport Police and Fire Officer I/II
  1. ANC Infrastructure Construction:

The rehabilitation of the terminal loop road required a six-inch elevation of the road under the terminal loop bridge. Signage posted prior to the bridge displays the maximum height a vehicle can be to drive under the bridge (10’ 6”) to make it out the other side unscathed. There have been multiple incidents where RVs have collided with the bridge. If you have an RV that previously fit under the bridge, do not assume it will make it through in the future. Motorist driving RVs or tall passenger vans are highly encouraged to use the commercial curb when picking up their loved ones at ANC.

  1. Cell Phone Parking Lot:

Don’t quite know when your traveler will get their bags and be ready for pick-up? Utilize ANC’s lovely, FREE cell phone parking lot! The cellphone lot is conjoined with the DOT&PF Central Region Headquarters (the Upside-down building) parking lot – minutes away from ANC (did we mention it is FREE). Parked or idling vehicles at the curb present safety issues and traffic congestion. Additionally, parking in the garage is free for the first 30 minutes. Only vehicles conducting active loading/unloading should be at the curb. Click HERE for directions.

  1. Lake Hood Seaplane Base:

Lake Hood is the world’s largest sea plane base, which means we have a plethora of small aircraft activity. Whether you are driving in a car, riding a bicycle, or pounding the pavement by foot, remember that all aircraft always have the right-of-way on the roadways, which in many places also double as taxiways. Please be sure to read all posted signage and follow the instructions. No people or pets are allowed on lake surfaces and all pets must be on a leash, this is for everyone’s safety.

  1. Departures and Arrivals:

All passenger departing ANC, including on international flights, must check-in at the South Terminal. Once checked in, any international passenger departing from the North Terminal, will be directed appropriately. While ANC has made several efforts to educate our visitors, there are still some select passengers getting dropped off at the North Terminal expecting to check in. ANC greatly appreciates your support and assistance in alerting the traveling public to the international check-in at the South Terminal.

International travelers arriving from Europe (Condor and Eurowings Discover) deplane at the North Terminal.

  1. Does your destination require masks, a COVID test, or proof of vaccination?

Travelers destined for locations that require proof of a negative test or a vaccination certificate must have their documentation with them prior to arriving at ANC. Boarding decisions are made by the individual airlines, not ANC. There is not a public testing site in the terminal. To find testing locations, visit https://anchoragecovidtest.org/.
