Six-month process that includes:
- Online Application
- Background Application
- Physical Agility Test
- Oral Board Interview
- Truth Verification Testing
- Background Investigation
- Psychological Fitness Test & Interview
- Medical Exam
- Chief’s Interview
Police Academy
Hired recruits will attend a Law Enforcement Academy. After successfully completing the academy you will receive an Alaska Police Standards Counsel Certificate.
Fire Academy
Recruits will attend an in-house four month long Airport Fire Training Academy at ANC. Upon completion they will receive certifications in:
- Firefighter I
- Firefighter II
- Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter (ARFF)
They will also receive training as Emergency Trauma Technicians (ETT) and HAZMAT Awareness and Operations.
