ANC is Hiring:

Join ANC’s team of award-winning staff! Recruitment is underway for a variety of vital positions, like heavy equipment operators and general facilities maintenance positions, that keep our 24/7 operations running smoothly. Positions under active recruitment efforts are posted online at www.JoinANC.com or through Local 71 at the following web addresses: local71.com/jobs. Both seasonal and full-time jobs are available. *For Heavy Equipment Operators and Mechanics in Field Maintenance, the new starting wage for these positions is $31.68/hr.  Year around and winter seasonal positions available.

 There’s Probably a Permit for That…

What are you doing at the airport? If you are on ANC property providing a commercial service like a rideshare, operating a food truck or offering some other business, chances are you need a permit. Unless a lease, permit, or concession expressly authorized the person to operate the business, a person must hold a current Business Activity Permit issued before selling, offering for sale, or providing goods or services commercially anywhere on the Airport regardless of the duration of the activity. Contact Brandon Tucker in our leasing department for help acquiring your Business Activity Permit at brandon.tucker@alaska.gov.

Lose Something?

Whether it was in the terminal, our parking lot, or on one of the trails on ANC property, lost items are logged in to our Lost and Found. Items are kept for approximately three months. If you believe you lost an item at ANC, please fill out an online claim at Lost & Found – Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ancairport.com).

Parking/Cell Phone Parking Lot:

ANC’s short-term and long-term parking options have been pretty full lately. Utilize ANC’s lovely, FREE cell phone parking lot to avoid a parking dilemma. The cellphone lot is conjoined with the DOT&PF Central Region Headquarters (the Upside-down building) parking lot – minutes away from ANC (did we mention it is FREE). Only vehicles conducting active loading/unloading should be at the curb. Click HERE for directions. Please note that if a lot is full, tickets will not be dispensed by the machines staged outside of the lot in question.

Well Water Survey:

The Airport’s contractor, Shannon and Wilson, has started scheduling residential well testing for PFAS in the study area immediately adjacent to the airport boundary.  For more information, please go to https://dot.alaska.gov/airportwater/anchorage/

Lake Hood Seaplane Base:

Brrrrrrrr!! Do you feel that winter chill in the air? It means Lake Hood, the world’s largest sea plane base, is beginning to freeze. Plane owners are in the process of switching from floats to skies to be able to land on the ice, when it is thick enough. No matter how tempting, no people or pets are allowed on lake surfaces; only aircraft and official ANC field maintenance personnel are allowed. As always, all pets must be on a leash on ANC property, this is for everyone’s safety.

Lake Hood User Group Meeting:

Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport will hold a Lake Hood User Group “Online” meeting Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022, at 1:00pm via “Microsoft Teams” or phone-in. Participation information (phone-in/ log-in/ password) is available by contacting us at tim.coons@alaska.gov, or cheryl.mcdowell@alaska.gov  or (907) 266-2410. The Online Public Notice is available at https://aws.state.ak.us/OnlinePublicNotices/Notices/View.aspx?id=208666.

Does your destination require masks, a COVID test, or proof of vaccination?

Travelers destined for locations that require proof of a negative test or a vaccination certificate must have their documentation with them prior to arriving at ANC. Boarding decisions are made by the individual airlines, not ANC. There is not a public testing site in the terminal. To find testing locations, visit https://anchoragecovidtest.org/.
