Jobs available at ANC include: mechanic and electrician positions with Field Maintenance and general maintenance positions within Facilities.

Not only is ANC looking for new employees, but businesses that also support the airport are hiring. Both seasonal and full-time jobs are available.

  1. FedEx Development Update:

FedEx, project sponsor, in coordination with the Airport, will host an Environmental Assessment (EA) scoping meeting for the FedEx City Station proposed for part of the Postmark Bog.  The public meeting, hosted by FedEx, is slated for February 16, 2023, at 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm at the Coast Inn.

  1. There’s Probably a Permit for That…

What are you doing at the airport? If you are on ANC property providing a commercial service or sharing a message to people traversing the airport, chances are you need a Business Activity Permit. To make sure you have the permit and information you need to appropriately operate at the airport, please contact Brandon Tucker in our leasing department for help at brandon.tucker@alaska.gov.

  1. Airport PFAS Testing:

The Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is working with Shannon & Wilson, Inc. (S&W) and the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) to identify and sample water supply wells potentially affected by PFAS near the ANC. Water supply well investigations and sampling continue to occur within the study area adjacent to the airport boundary, with all results expected to arrive throughout January and February. DOT&PF’s PFAS program is available to present at community councils about the testing program. Sampling results to date have not found PFAS above DEC’s action levels. Upon the completion of the sampling effort, DOT&PF’s PFAS program will produce a publicly available report that includes a map of sample locations and results.

  1. Lose Something?

Whether in the terminal, our parking lot, or on one of the trails running through ANC property, lost items are logged in to our Lost and Found. Items are kept for approximately three months. If you believe you lost an item at ANC, please fill out an online claim at Lost & Found – Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ancairport.com).

  1. Lake Hood Seaplane Base:

The world’s largest sea plane base is frozen over. Plane owners have switched from floats to skis to be able to land on the ice. No matter how tempting, no people or pets are allowed on lake surfaces; only aircraft and official ANC field maintenance personnel are allowed. As always, all pets must be on a leash on ANC property, this is for everyone’s safety.
