Race the Planes 5K
On Sunday, August 27, at 10am, ANC Police and Fire is doing its part to support the Alaska Chapter of the American Cancer Society by hosting a 5K fun run. Parking Limitations:
ANC would like to thank everyone for their ongoing patience with our South Terminal Parking Garage construction. We know, it feels like it is taking forever. Parking continues to be exceedingly limited throughout the duration of the project. Travelers should allot extra time to either find parking on or off-site. Please obey all construction information signs around the airport and drive safely. Lost and Found
ANC Lost and Found is currently understaffed. Anyone looking for a missing item should report it at Lost & Found – Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ancairport.com). If you receive notification that your item has been located, please schedule an item pick up during business hours by calling 907-266-2526. We hope to return to our regularly scheduled business hours soon.
No RVs or Other Oversized Vehicles Under the South Terminal Loop Bridge:
A gentle reminder that any vehicle over 10’6” (RVs, sprinter vans, oversize vehicles, etc.) must use the commercial curb at the South Terminal. There is a sign with flashing lights to warn drivers of the height restriction before the entrance under the South Terminal Loop bridge. There is also a safe turnout to use to switch to the commercial pickup curb.
RV damage caused from hitting the underside of the bridge can be substantial, not to mention the cost of damage to ANC infrastructure. If you do not know how tall your vehicle is, please do not go under the Terminal Loop Bridge.
Construction at the Airport:
ANC is doing an extension of Taxi way Z, which is near South Airport Park (near Kulis). Construction is ongoing 7 days a week with heavy equipment running from 7am to 7pm. Occasionally the contractor will perform maintenance on the equipment during evening hours. The project is slated to be completed on Oct. 1. The Airport is working with the contractor to keep construction-related noise to a minimum.
Lake Hood Construction:
Road rehabilitation projects along Aircraft and Lakeshore drives (from Voight Circle to the Lake Hood west property boundary south of Runway 14/33) and along Postmark Drive from West Northern Lights to Rockwell Avenue, has been deferred to next summer.
